60nA ultra-low quiescent current, high-efficiency, compact buck converter designed for battery-powered applications
Candidate for:EE Awards - Power Management IC
Richtek’s RT5717 is an ultra-low quiescent current synchronous buck converter designed specifically for long standby and battery-powered applications. It is ideal for smart meters, asset trackers, wearable devices, and a wide range of IoT systems. In power-saving mode, the RT5717 consumes only 60nA of quiescent current, and even under bypass mode (VIN = VOUT), the quiescent current remains as low as 100nA — significantly outperforming comparable solutions and effectively extending battery life and standby time.
In terms of efficiency, the RT5717 maintains over 80% efficiency at ultra-light loads (<1µA), and exceeds 90% efficiency at 1A load, supporting up to 1.5A of continuous output current. This allows the device to efficiently meet application requirement of small devices. Additionally, output voltage is selectable from 0.5V to 4V in 16 steps using a single external resistor, simplifying both circuit design and overall BOM cost.
By combining ultra-low quiescent current, excellent efficiency, and flexible output configuration, the RT5717 offers a power solution that delivers both extended battery life and high performance for energy-sensitive applications.
